Global Warming

Posted by fred | No Comments »

I presented a paper entitled “Time Series Analysis of Global Warming Data” at the International Symposium on  Forecasting in June of this year.  http://forecasters.org/submissions10/ANDRESFREDISF2010.pdf  Our conclusion was that it is uncertain whether or not reducing CO2 will reduce temperature.  Essentially, we’re saying that the Gospel according to Al Gore is wrong.  This has major policy implications.  Specifically, it implies that cap and trade has a good chance of being a waste of money.

We will be offering an Excel regression add in. It has three large advantages over Excel’s built in regression:
1) The number of independent variables is unlimited.
2) Coefficients can be constrained to be positive or negative.

3) It will optionally do backwards stepwise regression.
